48 matches (minimum)
The Spanish Mahjong Federation is promoting an open league of Riichi Mahjong using Mahjong Soul as the game platform with a ruleset based on the EMA Riichi ruleset.
It will work this way: once registered, players will be added to the tournament roster and will be able to queue to play other registered players. All players will play randomly with each other for a minimum of 48 matches in a timespan of 3 months. At the end of the period, the player with the best average points wins the league and a free registration for one Riichi tournament in Spain (see conditions in the Organization tab).
There is no entry fee and no hidden costs (not even in-game). You can participate for free! You can use our official Discord server to get in contact with us and with other players as well:
TOURNAMENT LOBBY ID: 109926
Ruleset based on EMA RCR:
Mahjong Soul is a Riichi Mahjong game with a lot of eye candy that we consider it is the most suitable game to hold a tournament, for the following reasons:
You can register in the official page for free.
We need your name, e-mail, Mahjong Soul username and Mahjong Soul player ID, available at the top of the "Friends" section within the game. We will send you further instructions by email about how to use the game to participate on the tournament.
Once registered, you can enter on the tournament lobby and press the "Ready to Start" button. This will put you on a queue and will be paired with other players as soon as there is 3 other players on the queue. You can see how many players are on the tournament lobby at any given moment and you can play at any hour within the tournament timespan. You can also use the Discord channel to try to find players.
You must play a minimum of 48 matches, but the way you play them is up to you. You can spread the schedule over the 3 months, do most of the matches on weekends, or just rush them on the first month. As long as there are people to play, anything is possible.
At the end of the league, players that have not played a minimum of 48 matches will be removed from the ranking.
The Ranking will be based on the average score earned through the games, with two decimal places. The Ranking will be updated here once a day. The final ranking will be announced on public channels and the winner will be contacted personally by email.
The winner of the league will win a free registration for a local or national Riichi Tournament of his choice done in Spain. The prize includes the tournament fee, but it does not include travelling or lodging.
